We are currently hiring a Fuel & Idle Monitoring Coordinator to join our growing 24/7 trucking operations team. This position is responsible for live fuel monitoring, idling control, fuel compliance, and supporting drivers with approved fueling locations across the United States.
This is a real-time operational role that helps control company fuel costs, improve fleet efficiency, and ensure drivers follow company fueling procedures at all times.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor live fuel activity for company trucks through fuel card systems, GPS tracking, ELD platforms, and internal operational tools
• Track truck idling percentages and identify excessive idle time
• Communicate with drivers regarding unnecessary idling and fuel efficiency improvements
• Assist and direct drivers to fuel at company-approved truck stops based on routing, pricing, and company systems
• Ensure drivers are fueling only at requested and approved fuel station locations
• Monitor fuel card transactions and identify suspicious, duplicate, or unauthorized fuel activity
• Verify fuel receipts, fueling locations, truck mileage, and fueling times for accuracy
• Track MPG and overall fuel efficiency performance across the fleet
• Work closely with Dispatch, Safety, and Maintenance departments regarding fuel-related issues
• Follow up with drivers regarding missing receipts, incorrect fueling locations, or fuel policy violations
• Maintain accurate reports and records of fuel usage, idling activity, and operational exceptions
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fuel and idling reports for management review
• Support company fuel-saving initiatives and operational cost-control efforts
Shift Structure:
This position operates with full 24/7 operational coverage. Since drivers operate in different states and time zones, all shifts are responsible for the same live monitoring duties and operational expectations. The only difference between shifts is working hours.
• Shift 1 – Morning Coverage
• Shift 2 – Daytime Operational Coverage
• Shift 3 – Overnight Coverage
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and monitor multiple systems simultaneously
• Good communication skills and confidence speaking with drivers daily
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, fuel systems, GPS platforms, and reporting tools
• Ability to identify unusual activity, fuel waste, or operational inefficiencies
• Previous trucking, dispatch, fleet, logistics, or operational experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys operational monitoring, live support environments, and helping improve fleet performance through fuel management and efficiency control.
