Job description

We are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented, and highly organized Claims Specialist to manage transportation and trucking-related claims from start to finish. This position is responsible for handling the full claims process A to Z, including collecting documents, reviewing accident information, communicating with drivers, insurance companies, repair shops, brokers, and customers, and keeping all claim files properly updated.

The Claims Specialist will work closely with Safety, Maintenance, and Management departments to protect the company’s interests, reduce financial exposure, and ensure all claims are handled quickly and professionally.

This role requires strong follow-up skills, critical thinking, professionalism, and the ability to stay calm during high-pressure situations.

Before any major action, settlement discussion, liability confirmation, or escalation is made, the Claims Specialist must review everything with management and receive approval before proceeding.

Main Responsibilities

  • Handle transportation and trucking claims from A to Z.
  • Open, organize, and maintain claim files.
  • Collect all required documentation related to accidents and incidents.
  • Communicate with drivers immediately after accidents or claims.
  • Review:

  • photos
  • repair estimates
  • towing invoices
  • BOLs
  • inspection reports
  • insurance documents
  • Follow up with:
  • insurance adjusters
  • attorneys
  • repair shops
  • brokers
  • customers
  • internal departments
  • Track claim progress and maintain detailed notes.
  • Identify missing information and aggressively follow up until completed.
  • Coordinate with Safety and Maintenance departments during investigations.
  • Prepare claim summaries and management updates.
  • Monitor deadlines and unresolved claims.
  • Escalate high-risk or sensitive claims to management.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Confirm all major actions with management before proceeding.
