Responsibilities
Global Sourcing Strategy
- Define long-term sourcing strategies aligned with business growth, capacity expansion, and geographic diversification
- Act as an internal authority on polyurethane raw material markets
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple regions
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for PU raw materials (MDI, polyols, catalysts, blowing agents, etc.)
- Ensure timely availability of materials aligned with production schedules
Supplier Partnership Management
- Establish and manage relationships with key global chemical suppliers
- Structure long-term contracts and strategic alliances
- Drive supplier innovation, co-development, and sustainability initiatives
- Conduct supplier performance reviews (cost, quality, delivery reliability)
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements
Cost Control and Leadership
- Own procurement P&L impact, delivering measurable cost savings and margin improvement. Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality
- Lead advanced pricing strategies, including index-based contracts, hedging, and risk-sharing models
- Navigate market volatility with proactive scenario planning and cost forecasting
- Monitor market trends (petrochemicals, feedstocks) to anticipate price fluctuations
- Implement bulk purchasing or alternative sourcing strategies where applicable
Inventory & Planning Coordination
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and planning teams to optimize inventory levels
- Prevent stockouts and overstock situations
- Support demand forecasting and material requirement planning (MRP)
Risk, Resilience & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations (REACH, safety standards, chemical handling)
- Mitigate supply chain risks through diversification and contingency planning
- Maintain proper documentation and audit readiness
Cross-Functional Integration
- Partner with Production, Sales, R&D and Finance teams to align procurement with product innovation and demand planning
- Support new product development through early supplier involvement
Reporting and Systems
- Track KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, lead times, and inventory turnover
- Utilize ERP systems (Oracle) for procurement processes
- Prepare procurement reports for senior management
Digital Transformation & Governance
- Lead procurement digitization (advanced ERP, AI-driven analytics, spend visibility tools)
- Establish governance frameworks, procurement policies, and performance dashboards
- Drive data-driven decision-making across the supply chain
