Role Purpose
To lead the estimating function for joinery works by preparing accurate, competitive, and commercially viable cost estimates. The role ensures projects are priced strategically, risks are identified early, and tender submissions are delivered to a high professional standard.
Key Responsibilities
1. Estimating & Cost Planning
Prepare detailed cost estimates for joinery, cabinetry, and fit-out works.
Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
Perform material take-offs and labor calculations.
Develop cost plans and budget forecasts.
Review subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
Maintain and update cost databases and pricing libraries.
2. Tender Management
Lead the full tender process from enquiry to submission.
Conduct tender risk assessments.
Identify value engineering opportunities.
Prepare clarifications, exclusions, and qualifications.
3. Technical Expertise
Strong understanding of joinery materials (veneers, laminates, solid timber, hardware).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production constraints.
Ability to review workshop drawings and manufacturing details.
Awareness of building regulations and compliance standards.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Tender success rate (% win ratio).
Accuracy of estimates vs. final project cost.
Margin achievement.
Timely submission of tenders.
Cost database accuracy and updates.
