Messaging Platform

• The Messaging Platform team ensures the reliability, scalability, and seamless integration of critical messaging platforms, primarily Kafka and AMQ, across cloud and on-prem environments within IG.
• Messaging Platform provides real-time operational support, automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), proactive monitoring & 24x7 support.
•  The team plays a vital role in maintaining high-performance messaging data pipelines. This enables business-critical applications to function efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal message delivery.

Your role in the Team’s Success

As a Senior Messaging Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the seamless integration, stability, and performance of our messaging platforms, primarily Kafka, with secondary AMQ. You’ll work in a DevOps environment, collaborating closely with development and operations teams.

What you’ll do

• Provide operational support for Kafka and AMQ messaging systems, including troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Take ownership of incident detection, diagnosis, and resolution, ensuring timely service restoration.
• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform for messaging services and related infrastructure.
• Support cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP), optimizing scalability and performance.
• Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect issues in the messaging pipeline.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues related to messaging systems and cloud environments.
• Develop scripts (Bash, Python) to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices for messaging integration and operational excellence.
• Document procedures and share knowledge within the team.

What you’ll need for this role

Key Qualification Requirements:

• 6-9 years of Experience with Kafka (primary) and AMQ (secondary).
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Configuration Management tools like Puppet, Ansible.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git & Scripting skills (Bash, Python)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Good to Have API Experience
