Main Purpose
Senior Lead Engineer Civil shall be responsible for leading all civil and structural activities on the project.
Job Accountabilities (duties and responsibilities).
- Co-ordinate and supervise the Civil & Structural engineering aspects of the project to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.
- Supervise, oversee and coordinate timely technical reviews of Civil & Structural engineering related deliverables developed by engineering consultant/vendors and ensure design optimisation in compliance with relevant codes and best practices.
- Contribute towards project planning & schedules.
- Play key role in exploring various design options, concept design and selection.
- Identify the data requirements, data gaps, various technical studies required for the project from Civil, structural and foundation design point of view.
- Prepare scope of work, BOQ/MTO, man hour estimates for detail engineering & EPC contracts.
- Prepare Design basis for Civil & Structural design
- Familiarity with IRC codes & standards for well site development Civil works
- Coordinate and perform technical reviews and rate analysis during vendor prequalification, bid evaluation stages.
- Carry out interface coordination with Engineering disciplines as well as construction contractors.
- Ensure design optimisation, technical integrity and quality.
- Provide technical guidance required to develop new specifications and update existing specifications in line with project requirements.
- Checking and reviewing 3D model, through SPR/other model reviewer to make it clash- free.
- Supervise and coordinate discipline engineer’s participation in layout reviews, design reviews and technical workshops.
- Preparation of engineering deliverables by carrying out analysis and design calculations using appropriate software.
- Mentoring and supervision of Senior and Junior Civil Engineers
Visit site to review and monitor site construction activities, ensure mechanism is in place for meeting construction quality; resolve site engineering issues and work with the Construction Manager to expedite the site works.
Skills
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
- Familiarity with working in 3D environment and Proficiency in StaadPro software
- Proficient in technical bid analysis
- Project planning and schedule analysis
- Proficient in rate analysis
- Technical analysis for various design options
- Proficient in understanding the scope of works and subsequently assist in estimation of budgets and man-hour requirement for assigned projects.
- Technical competence and awareness of codes, standards of general civil underground works so as to coordinate and resolve technical issues during course of the project.
- Knowledge of QMS.
- Team player and has good communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in design of foundations and structures including working knowledge of dynamic analysis of foundations for rotating machinery.
Qualification:
- BE/B.Tech Engineering Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from accredited college or university
Experience:
- Should have worked in Lead – Civil & Structural role for at-least 5 years
- 15 to 20 years minimum detail engineering and execution experience in Hydrocarbon/ other heavy industries
- Exposure to construction of civil & structural works at site
- Experience in design of foundations and structures including review of dynamic analysis of foundations.
