Job description

The Transportation Supervisor plays a critical role in the Oil & Gas industry, overseeing the safe and efficient transportation of materials and personnel. This position is essential for ensuring that all transportation operations comply with industry regulations and company policies. The Transportation Supervisor will coordinate logistics, manage transportation staff, and ensure that all vehicles are maintained and operated safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee daily transportation operations to ensure timely and safe delivery of materials and personnel.
  2. Manage and schedule transportation staff, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
  3. Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  4. Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
  5. Coordinate with other departments to align transportation needs with operational goals.
  6. Monitor transportation budgets and expenses, making recommendations for cost savings.
  7. Train and mentor transportation staff on safety protocols and best practices.
  8. Respond to transportation-related incidents and emergencies promptly.
  9. Maintain accurate records of transportation activities and vehicle maintenance.
  10. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience in transportation management within the Oil & Gas sector.
  2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  3. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  4. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  5. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  6. Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
  7. Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  8. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  9. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  10. Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
