Job description

The Crane Assembly Foreman plays a crucial role in the oil and gas industry, particularly in overseeing the assembly and maintenance of cranes used in various projects. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety. The foreman is responsible for ensuring that all crane operations are conducted efficiently and in compliance with industry standards. This role is vital for maintaining the operational integrity of heavy machinery and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and coordinate the assembly and disassembly of cranes on-site.
  2. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during crane operations.
  3. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of cranes to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Train and mentor crew members on proper crane operation and safety protocols.
  5. Collaborate with project managers to develop assembly schedules and resource allocation.
  6. Maintain accurate records of crane operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  7. Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate repairs as necessary.
  8. Implement and enforce safety measures to minimize risks and accidents on-site.
  9. Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  10. Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety practices.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience in crane assembly and operations within the oil and gas sector.
  2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  3. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  5. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  6. Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management.
  7. Technical proficiency in crane mechanics and operations.
  8. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  9. Willingness to work in challenging environments and adapt to changing conditions.
  10. Relevant certifications in crane operation and safety practices.
