GSM-R Resident Engineer (L3 TAC Support)


Education

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent


Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years in telecom O&M or mission-critical network support
  • At least 3+ years of hands-on experience with railway telecom or GSM-R / mission-critical mobile systems
  • Proven experience in live operational environments (not limited to lab or rollout)


Core Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Huawei GSM-R Core and BSS
  • Expertise in troubleshooting: MSS, HLR/HSS, MGW, BTS, BSC
  • Experience with Huawei NMS and O&M tools
  • Software patching, backup & restore, RCA, alarm handling, configuration review, preventive maintenance
  • Understanding of service continuity, redundancy, and restoration in critical systems


Operational Skills

  • Ability to work as an 8x5 resident engineer with 24/7 on-call support
  • Strong incident handling and escalation management
  • Capable of preparing incident reports, maintenance reports, change logs, and monthly performance reports
  • Ability to support SAR GSM-R systems for troubleshooting, testing, and knowledge transfer


Preferred Certifications

  • Huawei certifications (GSM-R / Core / BSS or equivalent)
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent
  • Basic cybersecurity awareness certification
  • Railway/HSE/site certifications (preferred)
