Role Summary
Design electrical systems (LV/MV), prepare drawings and calculations, coordinate across disciplines, and deliver code-compliant, constructible designs for consultancy projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop complete electrical design packages: single-line diagrams, load schedules, panel schedules, cable sizing, grounding/earthing, lighting, small power, and MV/LV distribution.
• Model and document systems in Autodesk Revit (BIM) and produce coordinated shop/IFC drawings.
• Perform lighting, power, and short-circuit/voltage-drop calculations; select equipment and protection settings.
• Design ELV/low-current systems (as applicable): fire alarm, CCTV, access control, data/telecom, PA/BGM.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes/standards (e.g., IEC/NEC, SBC, NFPA, utility/SEC requirements).
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, and site teams; resolve clashes and RFI responses.
• Prepare BOQs, technical specifications, datasheets, and material submittals; support tendering and value engineering.
• Conduct design reviews, QA/QC checks, and support site with technical clarifications.
Must-Have Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of electrical design experience in a consulting engineering office.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for electrical/BIM modeling and documentation.
• Solid command of AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel for schedules/calcs).
• Working knowledge of IEC/NEC, NFPA, SBC, and local utility standards (e.g., SEC) and permitting processes.
• Proven experience producing coordinated IFC/tender drawings and complete calculation packs.
Technical Skills (Required)
• Load estimation, diversity factors, feeder/cable sizing, short-circuit and voltage-drop studies.
• LV/MV distribution design, transformer/switchgear selection, grounding/earthing & lightning protection.
• Interior/exterior lighting design and controls; emergency/exit lighting.
• ELV systems fundamentals and interface with life-safety systems.
• BIM coordination (worksets, families, schedules) and clash detection workflows.
Preferred/Plus
• Experience with: ETAP/DIALux/Calculux, Navisworks/Clash detection, BIM 360/ACC.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency and green building guidelines (LEED, Mostadam) is advantageous.
• Professional certification or membership (e.g., FE/PE, PMI-PMP exposure) is a plus.
• Arabic/English communication; KSA market/authority experience.
• Previous experience within Saudi Arabia.
Soft Skills
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, documentation rigor, and QA mindset.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines across multiple projects.
Typical Deliverables
• Revit models, coordinated drawings (IFC/tender/shop).
• Calculation reports (load, SC, VD, lighting), SLDs, panel schedules.
• BOQs, datasheets, technical specs, and compliance matrices.
