Position Overview:
The Sales Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in driving membership acquisition, revenue growth, and customer retention across all gym and wellness facilities. This role involves designing, leading, and continuously improving the sales process, recruiting and training high-performing sales teams, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with marketing and operations to optimize the member experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and membership targets.
- Implement standardized sales processes across all facilities to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Identify market trends and business opportunities to drive membership growth.
- Develop promotional sales campaigns in coordination with the marketing team.
2. Sales Recruitment & Team Development
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of skilled sales consultants and membership advisors.
- Collaborate with HR to build a high-performance sales team with a strong culture of accountability and results.
- Define KPIs and performance metrics for all sales staff.
3. Sales Training & Coaching
- Develop and deliver ongoing training programs for new hires and existing team members, covering topics such as objection handling, closing techniques, CRM usage, and product knowledge.
- Conduct regular coaching sessions, performance reviews, and sales simulations to upskill staff.
- Foster a motivational and competitive sales environment that encourages peak performance.
4. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Use CRM and sales analytics tools to track lead conversion rates, sales funnels, team performance, and customer trends.
- Provide regular reporting to senior management on sales performance and pipeline health.
- Take corrective actions to address underperformance and identify areas for growth.
5. Cross-Department Collaboration
- Liaise with marketing to align lead generation efforts, digital campaigns, and local outreach strategies.
- Work closely with operations and facility managers to ensure seamless member onboarding and satisfaction.
- Partner with customer service and retention teams to reduce cancellations and increase renewals.
6. Process & Systems Optimization
- Maintain and enhance the CRM system to ensure efficient lead tracking, follow-up, and data integrity.
- Implement best practices in sales operations and continuously look for opportunities to improve workflows and tools.
- Standardize scripts, templates, and member onboarding guides across facilities.
7. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, personal training clients, and VIP members.
- Lead high-level membership sales and negotiate large corporate wellness packages.
- Represent the company at events, expos, and strategic partnerships to promote services and brand visibility.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in sales management, preferably within the fitness, wellness, or hospitality industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience leading and scaling sales teams across multiple locations.
