The Mechanical QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical work
(installation, fabrication, testing, and commissioning) are carried out in accordance with
approved drawings, specifications, codes, and project quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of mechanical works such as piping, firefighting, and
equipment installation.
Verify materials delivered to site comply with approved specifications and
standards.
Monitor ongoing work to ensure compliance with quality procedures and method
statements and international standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API, ISO)
Prepare and submit inspection reports (IRs), checklists, and quality records.
Maintain records of inspections, test results, and approvals.
Review and verify material inspection requests (MIR) and work inspection
requests (WIR).
Report non-conformities (NCRs) and follow up on corrective actions.
Witness and verify testing activities such as:
o Pressure testing (hydrotest / pneumatic test)
o Equipment functional testing
Ensure proper calibration of instruments used for testing.
Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors for inspection
activities.
Liaise with consultants/clients for approvals and inspections.
Attend quality meetings and provide updates on inspection status.
Verify implementation of approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Certification in QA/QC (preferred).
Knowledge of international codes and standards.
5–8 years of experience in mechanical QA/QC inspection (construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects) in piping.
Skills &Competencies
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
Familiarity with QA/QC documentation (ITP, MIR, WIR, NCR)
Good communication and reporting skills
