A Planning Engineer plays a pivotal role in the construction and project management
industry, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required
quality standards.
Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules
Coordinate with project managers and team members to define project scope
and objectives
Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
Prepare and present project reports every week and updates to stakeholders
Assist in budgeting and resource allocation decisions
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and adherence to schedules
Analyze project data to identify trends and improve future project planning
Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials
and services
Use project management software to track and report project timelines
Develop contingency plans to address delays and disruptions
Review and approve project plans developed by subcontractors
Facilitate communication between different project teams
Qualifications &Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft
Project. PMP is an added advantage.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in project planning or management
Skills
Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Excellent teamwork, Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of local and international construction standards
Proficient in project management tools and software
