The purpose of this role is to perform and support the standard Operational Finance activities as detailed in the end to end transaction process documentation for which the role relates: Order to Cash; Purchase To Pay; Record To Report.

Job Title: Accounts Executive



Location: Mumbai

Key Responsibilities




1. Day-to-Day Accounting Operations



•Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting entries in Tally/Zoho/QuickBooks or relevant accounting software.



•Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate classification of income, expenses, and assets.



•Record vendor bills, client invoices, and journal entries promptly and accurately.



•Manage bank reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.




2. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management



•Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate documentation.



•Handle vendor queries and follow up for invoice clarifications.



•Track client receivables and coordinate with the account/project management teams for follow-ups on payments.



•Maintain an up-to-date ageing report for debtors and creditors.




3. Petty Cash & Expense Management



•Oversee petty cash disbursement, reimbursements, and maintain proper documentation.



•Track production-related cash spends, reimbursements, and approvals.



•Regularly reconcile petty cash and ensure adherence to internal approval and expense policies.




4. Financial Reporting & Analysis



•Assist in preparing monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets.



•Support the finance manager in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.



•Maintain cost sheets for projects, ensuring production costs and overheads are captured accurately.



•Prepare MIS reports and expense summaries as required by management.




5. Compliance & Documentation



•Assist in statutory filings (TDS, GST, PF, PT, etc.) in coordination with external consultants or CA firms.



•Maintain and organize all supporting documentation for audits.



•Ensure timely updates of client/vendor master data, contracts, and financial documents.



•Support during internal and external audits.




6. Production & Project Accounting (Specific to Creative / Production House)



•Track and record costs for ongoing shoots, productions, and campaigns.



•Liaise with production managers to reconcile project budgets vs. actual spends.



•Ensure accurate booking of artist payments, vendor advances, and production-related expenses.




Key Skills & Competencies



•Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.



•Proficiency in Tally ERP / Zoho Books / QuickBooks or similar accounting tools.



•Knowledge of GST, TDS, and basic statutory compliance.



•Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, MIS reporting).



•Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven.



•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.



•Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal teams and vendors.




Qualifications & Experience



•Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com / M.Com preferred).



•2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a creative agency, production house, or media environment.



•Experience with project costing and production-related accounting will be a strong plus.
