The Oil Trader is responsible for buying and selling crude oil and refined petroleum products in local and international markets. This role involves market analysis, negotiation, contract execution, and close collaboration with logistics, finance, and compliance teams to ensure profitable and risk-managed trades.
Key Responsibilities
● Execute physical and/or paper oil trades (crude oil, diesel, gasoline, etc.)
● Analyze market trends, news, and pricing data to identify trading opportunities
● Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, clients, and brokers
● Negotiate prices, volumes, delivery terms, and payment conditions
● Monitor positions, exposures, and ensure trades are within risk limits
● Coordinate with logistics for shipping, storage, and delivery scheduling
● Work closely with finance and legal departments to ensure proper documentation and invoicing
● Track P&L and provide regular reports to management
● Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
● Minimum 5 years of experience in oil trading or commodities trading
● Deep knowledge of the oil markets, trading instruments, and supply chain
● Excellent negotiation and communication skills
● Ability to make fast decisions under pressure
● Strong analytical and quantitative skills
● Proficient in Excel, trading platforms, and market data tools
● Fluent in English (other languages are a plus)

● Existing network of oil suppliers and clients
● Understanding of hedging strategies and risk management
● Knowledge of INCOTERMS and international trade regulations
