About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will champion HSE best practices, ensure compliance with local and international regulations, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance across our operations.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in line with UAE regulations and industry standards
Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential safety risks
Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Plan and execute ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 audits, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for improvement
Deliver HSE training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders
Monitor HSE performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for senior management
Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and contractors to ensure adherence to HSE requirements
Promote a proactive safety culture through site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns
Required Qualifications:
NEBOSH General Certificate (or higher)
3-8 years of hands-on HSE experience in an industrial or construction environment
Proven expertise in risk assessment and hazard identification methodologies
Demonstrated experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
Practical experience conducting ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 audits
Thorough knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and international standards
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to produce clear reports
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
ISO Lead Auditor certification
IOSH Managing Safely or OSHA certification
Experience in the oil & gas or energy sector
Familiarity with HSE management software and data analysis tools
Arabic language proficiency
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and safety committees
