Job description

The Assistant HR Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the human resources department within a construction and building company. This position involves a variety of administrative and operational tasks that are essential for maintaining a productive workforce. The ideal candidate will assist in recruitment, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws, ensuring that the company adheres to best practices in human resources management.

Responsibilities:


  1. Support onboarding processes for new hires, including orientation and training sessions.
  2. Maintain employee records and ensure they are up-to-date and compliant with legal requirements.
  3. Facilitate employee engagement initiatives and assist in organizing company events.
  4. Handle employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
  5. Assist in performance management processes, including evaluations and feedback sessions.
  6. Coordinate training and development programs for staff to enhance skills and career growth.
  7. Support payroll processing by collecting and verifying timesheets and attendance records.
  8. Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, providing guidance to management as needed.
  9. Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve workplace culture and employee satisfaction.

  1. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  2. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software.
  5. Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  6. Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive information.
  8. Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
  9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  10. Commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
