Accountant (ERP & Systems Focus)

Role Overview

We are looking for a technically strong Accountant with deep ERP and database expertise to support and enhance our finance operations. This role goes beyond traditional accounting — you will be responsible for maintaining financial accuracy through system integrity, automation, and data control.

You will work alongside the Senior Accountant and Bookkeeper, but your core value is ensuring that the accounting system (Odoo/Oracle/SAP or similar) is structured, optimized, and reliable.

If you are purely a transactional accountant without strong ERP and technical capability, this role is not a fit.

Core Responsibilities

ERP & Systems Ownership (Primary Focus)

• Manage and maintain accounting data within ERP systems (Odoo preferred)
• Configure, customize, and troubleshoot ERP modules related to accounting, inventory, and reporting
• Develop and implement system improvements, workflows, and automation
• Perform back-end configuration and basic coding/customization in Odoo (or similar ERP frameworks)
• Ensure data integrity across all financial and operational modules
• Work with developers or external vendors when deeper system customization is required
• Design and generate accurate financial and operational reports directly from the system

Database & Technical Responsibilities

• Work with underlying databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL) to extract, validate, and analyze financial data
• Build queries, reports, and dashboards to support management decision-making
• Identify data inconsistencies and resolve root causes at system level (not manual fixes)
• Support integration between ERP and other business systems

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Oversee day-to-day accounting entries and ensure system-driven accuracy
• Perform reconciliations (bank, AP/AR, inventory) and ensure alignment with ERP data
• Support monthly closing, financial reporting, and audit preparation
• Assist with VAT and corporate tax compliance where required

Process Optimization & Control

• Eliminate manual workarounds by improving system workflows
• Establish strong internal controls within the ERP environment
• Train internal users to ensure proper system usage across departments
• Continuously improve efficiency, reporting speed, and data reliability
