Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design and development of roads, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations while delivering solutions that enhance safety and efficiency: review and evaluate road design submissions from the Design Consultant for compliance with applicable codes and standards and for implementation feasibility.
2. Evaluate Value Engineering Opportunities.
3. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client expectations and organizational goals.
4. Conduct detailed analysis and design calculations, utilizing advanced engineering software to produce high-quality design documentation and reports.
5. Review and approve design drawings and specifications, providing technical guidance to design engineers and ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
6. Coordinate with various disciplines including geotechnical, environmental, and traffic engineering to ensure integrated design solutions that address all project aspects.
7. Monitor design progress and performance, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure timely project delivery.
8. Participate in site visits and inspections to assess construction progress and quality, providing feedback and recommendations to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Qualifications & Education:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Road and Highway Engineering from an accredited university.
Experience Requirements:
Total Experience: 10+ years experience at road, highway and infrastructure projects including road geometric design reviews, temporary traffic management, road marking, road safety, barrier design, etc.
Managerial Experience: Minimum 3+ years working as Senior Road Design Engineer.
Regional Experience: Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is a significant advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
Languages: Excellent command of English (written & spoken). Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
Leadership: Strong leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Software: Proficiency in Autocad, Autodesk Civil 3D. Proven experience and proficiency in BIM methodologies and applications is a significant advantage.
Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Mindset: A self-driven, result-oriented professional with a strong sense of ownership.
