Job description

  • Prepare and produce a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and baked items according to menu plans and production schedules.
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure product consistency and minimal waste.
  • Assist in developing new dessert recipes and presentation ideas under the direction of the Head or Pastry Chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pastry and baking areas, strictly following HACCP and company food safety protocols.
  • Ensure proper storage of ingredients and finished products (e.g., labeling, dating, rotation using FIFO system).
  • Operate and maintain baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, proofers, and dough sheeters safely and efficiently.

Skills

  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or Baking & Pastry from a recognized institute.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Pastry Cook or Baker, preferably in catering, hospitality, or large-scale food production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dessert preparation, and pastry decoration.
  • Familiarity with industrial kitchen equipment and food safety regulations (HACCP).
