Job description
We are seeking a highly competent MEP Lead Engineer to oversee the operation and maintenance of commercial facilities with experience in managing MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), leading technical teams, ensuring compliance with preventive maintenance schedules, able to identify root-cause issues, and coordinating with local authorities. The candidate must be English/ Arabic-speaking, MMUP certified is a benefit, and experienced in facility management within the GCC region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the MEP maintenance systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, ELV systems) across assigned commercial properties.
- Ensure timely execution and record documentation of preventive maintenance schedules and corrective maintenance.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring technical issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Review service reports, perform system checks, and track maintenance activities.
- Manage energy efficiency programs and monitor utility consumption.
- Oversee subcontractors and service providers to ensure compliance with SLAs and safety standards.
- Coordinate with local authorities (Civil Defense, UDC, Kahrmaa, etc.) for inspections, permits, and approvals.
- Respond promptly to facility-related emergencies and provide engineering support when necessary.
- Prepare technical reports, maintenance logs, and client updates.
Skills
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- MMUP certified (UPDA – Grade A/B preferred).
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in Construction and MEP facility management,
- Strong experience in operating commercial buildings (offices, malls, mixed-use developments, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, fire alarms, ELV systems.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (both spoken and written).
- Well understanding of Qatar’s local authority procedures and requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Valid Qatar Driving License preferred.
