Job description

NES Fircroft is currently recruiting a Senior Planning Engineer on behalf of our client, a global offshore energy and ocean-infrastructure company, based in the Rotterdam office, Netherlands. This is an initial 12 month contract, working Mon-Fri, 40hrs per week. 
Purpose:
  • As Senior Planning Engineer, you are responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing project schedules to ensure timely and efficient project execution. This involves collaboration with various departments, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to align project timelines and resources.
Responsibilities:
  • You develop and oversee detailed project schedules using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • You coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary project data and milestones.
  • You monitor and oversee project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • You prepare and oversee regular progress reports, including schedule updates, earned value analysis, and performance metrics.
  • You analyze project trends and provide forecasts to support decision-making.
  • You lead planning meetings and workshops to ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • You ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • You mentor more junior Planning Engineers and support their development
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience
  • 5+ years experience in project planning within the oil and gas sector.
  • Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6 preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
