We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Substation Design Engineer to join our engineering
team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, planning, and development
of electrical substations (LV/MV) in compliance with industry standards and project
requirements.
The role involves preparing detailed electrical schematics, layout drawings, protection and
control designs, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate
project delivery. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of power systems,
substation equipment, and relevant engineering software.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
Design and implement protection schemes
Prepare schematic drawings and design studies
Design substation layouts and detailed drawings
Review vendor documents and technical submissions
Perform cable sizing calculations
Conduct lighting design and lux level calculations
Perform lightning protection system design
Conduct grounding/earthing system calculations
Perform equipment sizing for:
o Switchgear (SWGR)
o Transformers (TRFR)
o APFC Panels
o Generators (GEN)
o UPS Systems
Experience
7–8 years of relevant experience in substation design
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Skills & Requirements
Strong knowledge of LV/MV substation systems
Familiarity with IEC standards
Proficiency in design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a team and meet project deadlines
