About the Role

* The Role of the Bid Manager is to manage the full spectrum of the bid life cycle (RFP, Pre-Tender Meetings, Q&A, Bid Preparation, Post Tender Clarification, Award Process, handover to Operations) through the design and implementation of an effective, auditable, collaborative process for proposal preparation and submission. 


What you will be doing

* Convene round-table meetings with stakeholders to inform a robust, auditable and criteria-driven approach to each opportunity.
* Create, and include others as appropriate, review an opportunity story board and provide innovative input which optimizes the bid.
* Ensure visual clarity, attractiveness and salience as well as financial robustness based on an analysis of the client’s profile.
* Lead and manage the performance, conduct, development and engagement of the Bid Team.
* Lead the proposal handover to Operations to support the so that the Project Management and the design team have the background before the project kick-off.
* Play a lead role in addressing post-submission queries / clarifications, collaborating as appropriate with Departmental representatives and/or project managers etc. in order to turn these around quickly and comprehensively.
* Prepare Financial Strategy for review by other key Departments and/or other stakeholders to support agile and value-adding decision-making.
* Prepare Financial proposal where different/new pricing mechanism is required, depending on the requirements.
* Provide team with inputs on proposal representations - diagrams etc., interfacing as appropriate with the Marketing and Graphic Design team to optimize the documentation’s look, feel, brand alignment etc.
* Review and address requirements, preferences and Pace’s competitive advantage relative to the nature of the opportunity as well as prevailing market rates for like-opportunities.
* Review synopsis for various RFPs and provide team with teaming strategies e.g. bid-winning strategy to choose the right partners.
* Review the RFPs and study the opportunity, risk associated, workload etc and discuss with Director on Go / No-Go. Support the Director with Bid Decisions.
* Source and validate man-month quotations from applicable Centre of Excellence stakeholders, challenging and clarifying as appropriate to support proposals which enjoy the full buy-in of applicable Cor stakeholders.
* Sourcing and validating labour rates based on appropriate sources of information.
* Support agile go/no-go decision-making based on defined financial appetite, reputational enhancement opportunity, risk thresholds and related business aspects.
* Prepare & agree matrix of responsibility between Associates/Joint Venture partners.

Required Experience

* A minimum of 10 years of substantial, ideally senior experience in Bid Management within the Architectural / Engineering / Construction industry.
* Ideally, has worked in a Consultancy with recent relevant Middle East experience. 


Education

* Graduate in Engineering / Computers / Management. 


Certifications & Memberships

* Additional training courses, professional and personal development with membership to professional groups, societies or institutes, desired.

Essential Skills

* MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, power point). Adobe In design is a plus. 
* Technical knowledge in Design and Engineering process. 
* Clear and precise communication skills in English, verbally and in writing. 
* Has the ability to present and influence an audience. 
* Critical thinker, can analyse data and propose commercial options. 
* Effective work style to be time effective and turnaround requests to meet deadlines accurately. 
* Organised, can plan and manage work demands within the team. 
* Looks ahead, commercial minded to take advantage of market opportunities.
