RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
• Responsible for the development of Extract Transform and Loading (ETL) routines, for building reports and dashboards.
• Follow the requirement specifications and work closely with the development lead and peers to deliver the code / programs.
• Analyse the business requirements, User stories and come up with the development effort and timeline to deliver the product.
• Review and amend technical design documents, technical specifications and ETL mapping document based on the requirement specifications and user stories.
• Review and amend data mapping documents and review with development lead and ensure the business derivation rules and transformation logics are accurate.
• Participate in Install, upgrade, administration, and troubleshooting of ETL, BI tools and guide infrastructure team on the recommended configuration and settings of the tool in order to best utilize the tools.
• Create user roles, security filters and build custom data access setup for ETL tools and database.
• Implement performance tuning techniques for database queries, ETL routines and scripts.
• Develop ETL procedures to ensure conformity, compliance with standards and translate business rules and functionality requirements into ETL procedures
• Create batches jobs using Unix shell scripts.
Business
• Work closely with development lead and infrastructure teams.
• Interact with support teams periodically and get input on the various issues and identify the resolution techniques.
• Provide all the required input and assistance to the business users in performing the data validation and ensure that the data and reporting delivered with accurate numbers.
Processes
• Successfully implemented or delivered projects using industry best practices.
• Familiar with deployment automation
• Actively participate in discussions with development leads, product owner and seek endorsements and approvals wherever necessary w.r.t technology project delivery.
People & Talent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the development SQL / PL SQL scripts, ETL programs.
• Ability to create understand technical design documentation.
• Should have excellent technical, analytical, interpersonal and delivery capabilities in the areas of complex data, reporting.
• Shall be a good team player with excellent written and verbal communications.
• Process oriented and experienced in onsite-offshore project delivery, using agile methodology and best practices.
• Should be able play an Individual Contributor role
Risk Management
• Assess and evaluate the risks that are related to the project delivery and update the development lead with appropriate remediation and mitigation approach.
• Review the technical solutions and deliverables with development lead and key technology stakeholders and ensure that the deliverables are adhering to the risk governance rules
Governance
• Work with Technology Governance and support teams and establish standards for simplifying the existing reports and batch programs
• Take end to end ownership of managing and administering the ETL, Reports and batches
