As a Test Engineer – PCBA, you set-up, validate, maintain and improve PCBA test procedure in production and ensure technical support in production for Failed PCBAs (or FGs) diagnosis after ICT/Flying probe/functional test, to secure EATON production quality standards and constantly improve customer satisfatction. This role ensures PCBA EATON quality compliance for repaired PCBA for New Product Introduction, Transfered PCBA from other EATON plants or EMS, and ensure robust and stable PCBA testing and repairing processes definition, compliant with industry standards, supporting product quality, and operational excellence, in line with EATON Safety rules. 




The Test Engineer - PCBA will design PCBA/FG test procedure and Work Instructions in production. To interact with Manufacturing Test development team during design phases (manufacturability of PCBA & FG), by supporting Industrialization Program Manager. To track defect rate at FCT/ICT Test process steps during Pre-series and in production, via Pareto analysis. Define, Manage and realize Testers and Test fixtures maintenance activities. To define repair processs for failed PCBA/FG to be applied in production. To suggest CI and VAVE projects for productivity improvement.



What you’ll do:
  • Develop, deliver and maintain Operators and Maintenance work instruction and plan, for PCBA & FG electronic test equipment processes (ICT, Flying Probe, Functional tests).
  • Manage and realize maintenance activities level 2 & 3 (preventives maintenance and internal-external equipment calibrations).
  • Lead production test processes, support quality issue resolution, and ensure operator training in electronic testing processes.
  • Support Industrialization program manager in ProLaunch Manufacturing deliverables release: Process flow Chart, PFMEA, PPAP, etc.., with Manufacturing Test development engineering team.
  • Support Industrialization program manager to influence PCB/PCBA design through DFM reviews, with R&D
  • Ensure PCBA test instruction and maintenance plan linked to ECO/MCO in due time.
  • Track and improve PCBA/FGs Test related cycle times for each PCBA SKU, and Update related RCCP data with production manager
  • Support customer audit and Plant quality certification programs at Test processes Level (ICT/Flying Probe Functional and other electronic test steps).
  • Support Manufacturing Test development team in new test solutions implementation in production: MSA tests, cycle time confirmation, maintenance plan definition, operator work instruction: change over and production operations.
  • Support component & Product engineer in SAP and MES setUp for PCBA/FGs test operation data establishment.
  • Analyse OEE of testers in production per SKU and define Continuous Improvement plan for Electronic Testing area.
  • Track maintenance indicators to improve Test area performance: MTBF, MTTR
  • Act as technical interlocutor for other EATON plant and EMS , for test in production shopfloor
  • Define CAPEX needs for PP, to improve productivity in production test area (ROI)
  • Support Production Continuous Improvement initiatives, SMED, Kaizen events, RIE, VSM
  • Support I4.0 initiatives on related equipment/processes for digitalization and connectivity to kepware/Ignition/MES (RTPPM, Traceability, SPC, etc..)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Mechatronics engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in PCBA manufacturing test in production
  • Strong knowledge on PCBA manufacturing processes is a plus
  • Experience in Takaya and/or similar machines

Skills:
  • Demonstrating in Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Programation of flying Probe equipment (i.e. Takaya flying Probe)
  • IPC-A610 Class3 strong knowledge and application (Certification is a strong advantage)
  • Knowledge of ESD safety procedures and quality control practices
  • Ability to work with multiple plant stakeholders, R&D engineers, and strongly support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Safety oriented in operations, in line with EATON MESH and operational activities
