Key Accountabilities
Build SJ/SMEC’s reputation as a leading consultant with a strong reputation for innovation, technical excellence, quality and project delivery;
Provide technical risk (and opportunity) governance to both proposals and projects to achieve reliable project performance in terms of sophistication, timeliness and quality (e.g. as Proposal/Project Director);
Support management to provide technical leadership to employees to ensure cohesion, optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development of technical staff;
Support management to achieve sustainable growth of the business through targeted client relationship management (CRM) and business development (BD) activity.
Experience
Atleast 20+ years of Professional Industry Experience
Established international industry profile, recognised as a leader in Ports and Maritime;
Sought out at industry forums.
Has the demonstrated ability to consistently:
Provide key technical expertise across a broad range of high profile projects;
Manage risk on substantial projects;
Apply safety in design practices and processes;
Deliver best client outcomes which have resulted in cost savings;
Establish and maintain client relationships;
Bring in new business through business development activities;
Building technical capability of others;
Provide expert advice and undertake key high level and complex technical tasks with a high degree of independence across a broad range of medium to large projects;
Successfully monitor and manage the scope and risk of multiple complex and varying size projects and apply business systems;
Prepare high level complex technical reports and prepare successful proposals on medium to large projects;
Utilise excellent time management skills with the ability to efficiently plan workloads and meet deadlines;
Effectively work across a variety of projects continuously learning and applying new skills and knowledge quickly and efficiently;
Effectively manage client relationships and expectations
Provide leadership, supervision and coaching to other staff;
Effectively engage key stakeholders to result in superior project outcomes which meet or exceed client expectations.
