Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), and civil drawings to avoid clashes.
• Ensure openings, sleeves, and embedments are correctly shown.
• Develop plans, sections, elevations, and details for concrete, steel, timber, or masonry structures.
• Update drawings according to engineer markups, site changes, or consultant comments.
• Follow company, project, and industry drafting standards (line weights, layers, annotation, title blocks).
• Keep an organized filing system for all structural drawings - issued, revised, approved, and as-built
• Show rebar placement, lapping, bending, and spacing as per codes (e.g., ACI, BS, Eurocode).
• Prepare bar bending schedules (BBS) for reinforced concrete elements - slabs, beams, columns, footings,
shear walls, and staircases.
AutoCAD advanced
• 6-1 O+ years - ability to lead detailing, check others' work, coordinate with engineers and architects
• Reading structural engineering drawings - ability to interpret plans, sections, elevation, and details.
• Teamwork - coordinating with engineers, architects, and other draftsmen
• Problem-solving - resolving conflicts between architectural, MEP, and structural drawings.
Attention to detail - accuracy in dimensions, rebar schedules, and layer management.
