Black & Grey HR is looking for a Sr. Cost Control Engineer for an engineering contracting company in Dubai to lead and strengthen project cost management across steel, aluminum, and façade works. The role will be responsible for developing and implementing robust cost control systems, preparing detailed project budgets and cash flow forecasts, tracking expenditures against approved budgets, reviewing subcontractor and supplier claims, monitoring procurement and labor productivity, conducting cost analysis and value engineering, supporting tendering teams with accurate cost data, and delivering comprehensive monthly cost reports and variance analysis to senior management while ensuring full compliance with financial policies and contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities



- Develop, implement, and maintain cost control systems, processes, and procedures for projects in steel, aluminum, and façade works.

- Prepare detailed project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost plans based on project scope, contracts, and execution strategy.

- Track project expenditures and commitments against budgets, ensuring timely reporting of variances.

- Review subcontractor and supplier cost submissions, variations, and claims for accuracy and compliance.

- Monitor procurement activities, material costs, and labor productivity to ensure alignment with financial targets.

- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to identify potential savings and efficiency improvements.

- Support tendering and estimation teams with cost data, benchmarks, and historical analysis.

- Coordinate with project managers, planners, and quantity surveyors to align cost data with project progress.

- Prepare and present monthly cost reports, variance analysis, and recommendations to senior management.

- Ensure compliance with company financial policies, contract requirements, and industry standards.

- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior cost engineers and project team members.


Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 8–15 years of proven experience in cost control, including a minimum of 6 years handling projects within the steel, aluminum, or façade sectors.

- Solid understanding of cost management practices, including budgeting, forecasting, and Earned Value Management (EVM).

- Advanced proficiency in project control and reporting tools such as Primavera (P6), MS Excel, ERP platforms, and other cost management systems.

- Sound knowledge of construction contracts, FIDIC conditions, and core principles of construction cost management.

- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.

- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate confidently with cross-functional project teams and senior management.
