The Merchandiser is responsible for executing in-store merchandising activities to ensure product availability, visibility, and compliance with defined planograms. The role supports sales objectives by maintaining high merchandising standards, replenishing stock, and ensuring effective product presentation across assigned outlets.
Tactical
· Execute daily merchandising plans and ensure compliance with company display standards.
· Support the implementation of promotions, price changes, and POSM across outlets.
· Coordinate with the Team Leader and Sales team to prioritize key products and displays.
Operational (Core)
· Ensure adequate stock levels on shelves and in back-store areas; minimize out-of-stock situations.
· Maintain shelf displays, product facings, pricing labels, and brand visibility.
· Follow and implement planograms accurately across all assigned stores.
· Ensure FIFO is followed and report near-expiry or damaged products promptly.
· Place and maintain promotional stands, gondolas, and POS materials.
· Conduct regular checks to ensure shelf hygiene and organized layout.
Operational (General)
· Build and maintain good relationships with store staff and supervisors.
· Monitor competitor activities and share field insights with the Team Leader.
· Complete daily merchandising reports and share updates on stock, issues, and store feedback.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, grooming standards, and safety requirements.
High school certificate or equivalent.
1-2 years of merchandising experience (FMCG preferred).
· Knowledge of merchandising standards and retail operations.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Basic product and stock management understanding.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple outlets.
· Physical ability to handle product lifting and frequent movement.
