Mechanical Engineer

Job Description
Stantec is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer for a DM Sewerage System in Dubai.
This role is for a project where the authority in Dubai is requiring the rehabilitation of an existing Sewage System to enable it to perform at its highest possible efficiency and to extend the plant to be able to receive and treat efficiently up to
around 435,000 m3 /day. The selected candidate shall have extensive experience working in local sewage treatment plant facilities along with a proven ability to manage and supervise the construction works and optimization of the operation process within the existing STP in accordance with the specification.
Rehabilitation / Repairing of Civil Works,
Extension of the Plant to around 175,000 m3/Day and
Rehabilitation of existing 260,000m3/Day STP

Qualifications
The Mechanical Engineer, as a vital member of the supervision team, must possess a degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized
university and have at least 20 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 10 years dedicated to supervision work in a similar projectâs capacity overseeing mechanical works.
He should exhibit substantial expertise in the design, construction, and supervision of mechanical works, particularly related to pumping
stations and force main infrastructure.
Proficiency in surge analysis and related site tasks, along with familiarity with various locations in
Dubai for prompt emergency response, is essential. Furthermore, the engineer must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to engage
with the public and coordinate effectively with Dubai Municipality projects. Competence in drafting software, Microsoft Office applications, and specialized tools such as WANDA or Water Hammers, coupled with excellent communication
abilities in English and decision-making capacity, is required. A valid UAE driving license is also necessary for this role.
