Job Summary The Senior Mechanical Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring all mechanical works on construction projects to ensure timely execution in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The role focuses on interface management, subcontractor coordination, issue resolution, and supporting installation, testing, and commissioning activities across mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Coordination & Interface Management * Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure clarity and constructability. * Coordinate mechanical works across HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and related systems to avoid clashes and execution delays. * Identify design discrepancies, interface issues, or constructability concerns and coordinate resolution with consultants and engineering teams. * Act as the focal point for mechanical coordination between site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and project management. Submittals, Shop Drawings & Approvals * Review and coordinate mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements to ensure timely approvals. * Track approval status and follow up with consultants and subcontractors to avoid impact on construction schedules. * Ensure approved documents are issued to site teams prior to execution. Site Execution Support * Support site teams during installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems. * Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements. * Coordinate inspections, testing activities, and consultant/client walkdowns as required. Planning, Progress & Procurement Coordination * Coordinate with planning teams to align mechanical works with overall project schedules. * Monitor progress of mechanical activities and highlight risks or delays to project management. * Liaise with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of mechanical materials and equipment. * Assist in resolving material shortages, sequencing issues, and site constraints. Quality, Safety & Documentation * Ensure mechanical works comply with project quality requirements and HSE standards. * Support implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality procedures. * Maintain accurate records of coordination activities, approvals, inspections, and progress reports. * Provide regular updates and reports to project management on mechanical coordination status. Required Qualifications & Competencies * Degree in Mechanical Engineering. * 12+ years experience in mechanical coordination roles on large/high-rise building  projects. * Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and associated mechanical systems. * Proven experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams. * Strong understanding of shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and site execution workflows. * Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills. * Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of AutoCAD. * Ability to manage multiple interfaces and priorities in fast-paced project environments.
