Job description

·Implement work plans and programmes related to providing technical and IT support services to users of desktop devices (computers, telephones, printers, scanners) and assist them in operating these devices effectively.


·Monitor the implementation of operational plans and resolve routine and emergency technical issues related to desktop devices and all systems and applications in line with business requirements.


·Monitor and perform system and software control processes, oversee the functioning of devices and peripherals, and install software to ensure continuous and effective operation.


·Respond promptly to users’ needs regarding desktop devices within the SLC and follow up on the Help Desk system to ensure the effective provision of appropriate support services.


·Monitor preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities for desktop devices in coordination with concerned entities and ensure timely repair of faulty equipment in accordance with approved procedures.


·Participate in the implementation of emergency plans for the urgent reinstallation of operating systems on computer devices, ensuring operational integrity and effectiveness, as well as monitoring the documentation of operating systems and any updates thereto.


·Provide technical support to users of desktop devices in managing operating systems and deliver training to enhance their capabilities, in line with the direct supervisor’s instructions and work requirements.


·Participate in the review and evaluation of technical proposals submitted by companies specialised in desktop devices, software, and applications, and provide appropriate opinions and recommendations on them.


·Monitor technical activities related to connecting devices and software to information networks, keep up to date with developments in desktop technologies and information technology, monitor the effectiveness of network and email accounts, manage such accounts, and provide recommendations to enhance their utilisation in the SLC’s operations.


·Provide, install, and utilise new software applications that align with evolving work requirements and help resolve user issues.


·Propose initiatives aimed at upgrading desktop devices, improving their performance and software, and ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 information security requirements.


·Assist in preparing and disseminating cyber security awareness bulletins and notifications on the optimal use of IT services, devices, and software available to the SLC employees.


·Attend meetings, seminars, technical committee meetings, working groups, forums, and conferences related to IT services, and follow up on the implementation of thepassed decisions and recommendations.
