Role Overview


As a Hostess at Banyan Tree Dubai, you are the first and last impression of the restaurant experience. You will welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, manage reservations and seating efficiently, and ensure a smooth flow of service that reflects the elegance and personalised hospitality of the Banyan Tree brand.


You play a key role in creating a seamless guest journey from arrival to departure.


Key Responsibilities


Guest Welcome & Experience


  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a personalised welcome.
  • Manage guest seating, ensuring optimal table allocation and flow.
  • Escort guests to tables and present menus where required.
  • Maintain a professional, polished, and approachable presence at all times.
  • Ensure guests are acknowledged promptly, even during peak periods.

Reservations & Seating Management


  • Manage daily reservations using the restaurant booking system.
  • Handle walk-ins, waiting lists, and guest preferences efficiently.
  • Coordinate table allocation with service and management teams.
  • Communicate accurate wait times and manage guest expectations.
  • Maintain up-to-date reservation records and seating plans.

Guest Relations


  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction throughout their arrival and departure.
  • Handle guest requests, preferences, and special occasions with care and attention.
  • Address minor concerns professionally and escalate when necessary.
  • Build rapport to encourage repeat visits and guest loyalty.

Operational Support


  • Coordinate closely with service team and supervisors to ensure smooth seating flow.
  • Assist with restaurant setup and closing procedures as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the reception and entrance area.
  • Ensure menus, signage, and host stand materials are presentable at all times.

Communication & Coordination


  • Act as a central point of communication between guests and service team.
  • Relay guest preferences and special requests to colleagues.
  • Support smooth coordination during peak service periods.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience


  • Previous experience as a Hostess in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant preferred.
  • Strong understanding of guest service and front-of-house operations.
  • Experience with reservation systems (e.g. OpenTable, ResDiary or similar) is an advantage.
  • Excellent spoken English; additional languages are beneficial.
  • Professional appearance and polished communication skills.
