Foreground is partnering with a leading events and experiences organisation to appoint a Sales Specialist – Events, a commercially driven professional who will play a pivotal role in accelerating revenue growth and strengthening long-term client relationships.


This role is designed for a sales professional who thrives in a relationship-led environment, understands the commercial dynamics of the events industry, and can confidently convert opportunities into high-impact, well-executed events.


Role Overview


The Sales Specialist – Events will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities across corporate and private event segments. The position combines proactive outbound sales with the management of inbound enquiries, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure client expectations are not only met but consistently exceeded.


Key Responsibilities


Business Development


  • Proactively generate new business through cold outreach, networking, and active participation in industry events and trade shows.
  • Build, manage, and convert a strong pipeline of qualified leads through disciplined follow-up and relationship management.
  • Identify and penetrate new market segments including corporate events, conferences, weddings, festivals, and large-scale activations.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market and industry trends to support targeted, strategic sales initiatives.

Client Relationship Management


  • Establish and nurture long-term client relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Translate client objectives into tailored event solutions aligned with budget, scope, and expectations.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and site visits, positioning the business as a trusted event partner.

Sales Strategy & Performance


  • Collaborate with the wider sales team to refine sales strategies and improve overall sales effectiveness.
  • Consistently meet and exceed monthly and annual revenue targets.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling, client-focused proposals and presentations.
  • Track sales performance and maintain accurate reporting on pipeline, forecasts, and closed deals.

Proposal Development & Contract Negotiation


  • Develop detailed event proposals, ensuring clarity across scope, services, and pricing.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, finalise contracts, and secure client commitments.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure deliverability against agreed specifications.

Post-Sales & Client Experience


  • Ensure a seamless handover to the event delivery team while maintaining client engagement throughout the planning phase.
  • Act as a senior point of contact, resolving issues proactively and ensuring a premium client experience before, during, and after events.

Candidate Profile


  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Event Management, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years experience in a sales role, ideally within events, hospitality, or a related services environment.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident presenter with strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Highly professional, client-focused, and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office, with strong expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to independently create high-quality presentations and client-facing materials.
  • Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple opportunities concurrently.
  • A solid understanding of the events industry and emerging trends is highly advantageous.
  • Fluent in English.
