The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies at the workplace to ensure compliance with local regulations and international safety standards. The role focuses on preventing accidents, minimizing risks, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs at site
Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments
Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions
Ensure compliance with Saudi labor laws, OSHA standards, and company safety policies
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training programs for employees and subcontractors
Monitor work activities to ensure safe work practices are followed at all times
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed incident reports
Maintain safety records, permits, inspection reports, and documentation
Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at site
Coordinate with site management, supervisors, and engineers on safety matters
Support emergency response planning, drills, and evacuation procedures
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field
Certified Safety Officer with valid certification (NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent)
Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer (GCC experience preferred)
Knowledge of Saudi safety regulations and HSE standards
Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices and hazard control
Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety audits
Good communication and reporting skills
Strong observation and problem-solving abilities
Ability to enforce safety rules with a firm but professional approach
Proficiency in preparing safety reports and documentation
Team-oriented with the ability to work independently at site
