Job Summary
The Quality Controller plays a vital role in ensuring the highest food safety and quality standards within our catering operations. This position involves evaluating food products, monitoring hygiene practices, and ensuring compliance with local health regulations and Saudi FDA guidelines. The Quality Controller collaborates with various departments to maintain excellence in food quality and is responsible for obtaining and sustaining ISO 22000 and HACCP certifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Inspect Raw Materials: Evaluate raw materials and prepared meals for compliance with Saudi FDA regulations and established quality standards.
· Monitor Hygiene Practices: Oversee staff personal hygiene and food handling, ensuring strict adherence to local health guidelines.
· Sanitation and Equipment Checks: Ensure comprehensive cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations, and verify the calibration of thermometers and food testing devices.
· Pest Control Management: Conduct regular pest control inspections and implement necessary corrective actions to mitigate risks.
·Waste and Subcontractor Management: Supervise waste management practices and monitor subcontractor compliance with food safety and quality standards.
·Sub Kitchens Auditing and Monitoring: Conduct routine and unannounced inspections of all subcontracted kitchens. Evaluate their compliance with hygiene and food safety standards and compile detailed reports to communicate findings with management for corrective action.
· Internal Audits and KPIs: Perform thorough internal audits, document non-compliance findings, and establish KPIs to track quality improvements and non-conformance trends.
·Training and Collaboration: Train staff on hygiene standards and food safety protocols, collaborating closely with Procurement, Logistics, and Production teams to ensure quality alignment.
· Emergency Preparedness and Certification Maintenance: Develop and implement emergency protocols, including food recall procedures, while ensuring the ongoing maintenance of ISO 22000 and HACCP certifications.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Technology, or a related field.
· Certifications: Relevant food safety certifications (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) recognized in Saudi Arabia.
· Experience: 0-3 years of experience in quality control or food safety management, preferably within the catering industry.
· Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Saudi food safety regulations and Saudi FDA guidelines.
· Training and Compliance Skills: Proven ability to effectively train staff on hygiene standards and food safety protocols.
