Job description

The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security across the organization.
The role focuses on maintaining and improving critical networking technologies including F5 application delivery controllers, Riverbed WAN optimization platforms, Cisco collaboration systems, and Cisco switching and routing environments.
The engineer will be outsourced to a government sector customer and plays a key role in proactively monitoring network performance, diagnosing complex issues, and implementing solutions that improve network reliability and efficiency.
Working closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams, the Network Engineer contributes to maintaining stable operations while supporting the organization’s evolving connectivity and collaboration requirements.
Responsibilities: Network Infrastructure Management Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
Administer and support Cisco switching and routing environments, including VLANs, routing protocols, and network segmentation.
Manage network connectivity across data centers, offices, and remote environments.
Implement network configurations aligned with organizational standards, security policies, and best practices.
Application Delivery & Load Balancing Manage and maintain F5 Application Delivery Controllers (ADC) including: Local Traffic Manager (LTM) Global Traffic Manager (GTM) Web Application Firewall (WAF) Configure and optimize load balancing policies to improve application availability and performance.
Monitor application traffic and adjust configurations to ensure efficient traffic distribution and security.
WAN Optimization & Network Performance Implement and manage Riverbed WAN optimization solutions to improve network efficiency and application performance across distributed environments.
Analyze WAN traffic patterns and identify opportunities to improve bandwidth utilization and network performance.
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to enhance application delivery and network responsiveness.
Collaboration Infrastructure Support Administer and support Cisco Collaboration solutions, including VoIP and Unified Communications platforms.
Ensure stable operation of voice and collaboration services across the organization.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to call quality, connectivity, and system integration.
Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting Continuously monitor network infrastructure using enterprise monitoring tools to ensure operational stability.
Proactively identify potential performance issues, network bottlenecks, and service disruptions.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
Escalate complex issues where required and coordinate with vendors or internal teams for resolution.
Reporting & Performance Analysis Generate detailed technical reports and network performance analyses for internal stakeholders.
Monitor and report on key network KPIs including availability, latency, throughput, and utilization.
Provide insights and recommendations to improve network efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
Maintain up-to-date documentation for network configurations, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or infrastructure operations roles.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong hands-on experience with F5 technologies (LTM, GTM, WAF).
Experience implementing and managing Riverbed WAN optimization solutions.
Solid expertise in Cisco switching and routing technologies.
Experience supporting Cisco Collaboration platforms including VoIP and Unified Communications.
Strong troubleshooting capabilities across network, application delivery, and connectivity environments.
