Job description
Purpose of the Job (Overall Accountability)
- The job holder is responsible to provide advanced maintenance skills; problem diagnostics, troubleshooting, creative-technical solutions, and maintenance training to lower-level technicians to ensure gaining one-for-ever maintenance performing on the same parts.
- The job holder is responsible to conduct vehicle/equipment maintenance (preventive and breakdown) as per directions of the higher-level supervisor ensuring the efficiency, safety, and timeliness of such maintenance activities.
Principal responsibilities / accountabilities
- Ensures maintenance for each vehicle / equipment assigned by completing each task on the job card efficiently and within the time allocated.
- Diagnoses any mechanical problems that have not been addressed by the job card and consults with higher level supervisor for further instructions.
- Adheres to maintenance schedules for vehicles assigned by the higher-level supervisor, in order to minimize delays and meet deadlines.
- Maintains contents of tool kit and ensures all tools used for maintenance and repairs are in proper condition and are functioning effectively, to minimize the potential for damage caused by defective tools.
- Attends to vehicle and/or equipment breakdowns occurring outside of workshop on occasion of emergencies/accidents to expedite the repair process and ensure the safety of the drivers/machine operators.
- Monitors the stock of spare parts available and consults with inventory records to ensure the accommodation of the spare part needs of each maintenance/repair job.
- Conducts tests of equipment/vehicles to guarantee their functionality and safety to eliminate accidents, injuries, and equipment breakdown.
- Ensures work area is always clean and neat to maintain organization, safety, and efficiency of activities.
- Should attend training as per HMC training standard and company requirement.
- Records all maintenance and repairs conducted and updates database for each vehicle/equipment for future reference.
- Updates and develops knowledge of vehicle/equipment mechanics to consistently deliver optimal service and meet pending challenges.
- Follows procedures of reporting on performance, budgets and other reports required from time to time to the higher-level supervisor.
Experience/Qualifications
Essential
- Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a mechanic preferably in a reputed organization attending operating in the same field.
- Ability to communicate in Arabic or English Languages
- Must pass Hyundai Technical Recognition Program (HTRP) Level 2 (expert technician level) with minimum of 50% grade
Desirable
- Ability to work with computer; Microsoft Office, or Windows.
- Adequate level of supervisory or training skills.
