Lathe Machine Operator

Job Title: Specialized Lathe Machinist (Mechanical, Gear & Hydraulics)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Lathe Operator/Machinist to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for machining precision parts for mechanical systems, cutting gears, and refurbishing hydraulic components (cylinders and pistons). You must be able to work with high accuracy and follow technical blueprints strictly.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Turning: Set up and operate manual or CNC lathe machines to produce mechanical parts based on engineering drawings.

Gear Machining: Perform gear cutting, hobbing, and threading operations with precise calculations of pitch and angles.

Hydraulic Repair: Machine and polish hydraulic cylinder rods, pistons, and seals to ensure leak-free performance.

Quality Control: Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify dimensions within tight tolerances.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot mechanical issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum [Insert Number, e.g., 3-5] years of experience in lathe machining, specifically in Gear Cutting and Hydraulic systems.

Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints and symbols.

Mathematics: Strong knowledge of geometry and workshop mathematics for gear calculations.

Precision: High attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

Vocational degree or certification in Mechanical Machining.

Experience with both Manual and CNC machines.
