Job description
We are currently seeking a qualified HSE Specialist to support ongoing construction projects by ensuring strict adherence to HSE standards and maintaining a safe, incident-free work environment.
Job Purpose
Ensure effective implementation of HSE rules, regulations, policies, and procedures at the project site Maintain an accident-free work environment throughout project execution Manage and maintain all safety-related records at site.
Key Responsibilities
Report directly to the Safety Supervisor and support the project management team
Assist in implementing Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability policies
Monitor site safety performance and identify hazards proactively
Conduct incident/accident investigations and submit reports
Ensure timely reporting on safety portal including:
Daily Site Safety Inspections (DSSI)
Incident/Accident, Near Miss, and Medical Cases
Daily, Weekly, and Monthly HSE reports
Unsafe acts/conditions and corrective actions
Equipment and tools inspection reports
Ensure MSDS availability for all hazardous materials
Monitor Toolbox Talks (TBT), risk assessments, and safety compliance
Participate in HSE meetings and coordinate with stakeholders
Ensure availability of firefighting equipment and First Aid supplies
Enforce stop-work authority in case of unsafe conditions
Maintain safety notice boards and communications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering discipline
Strong command of English (read, write, speak)
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Mandatory Certifications (any of the below):
Diploma in Fire & Safety
OSHA / IOSH Working Safely
NEBOSH HSW / NEBOSH IGC
Additional Training Awareness:
Work Permit System
First Aid with BLS
Rigger Level 3 Awareness (Third Party)
Scaffold Erector Awareness (Third Party)
Experience
5 to 8 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry
