Responsibilities:

The role is responsible to ensure on-site implementation of HSE requirements for all site activities and facilities by conducting inspections, advising, assisting and supporting the construction supervisors, foremen and chargehand on HSE requirements.


  • Proactively identify the safety & health risks and liaise with the projects team in implementing the control measures.
  • Conduct daily inspections at site covering tools, scaffolds and other equipment and render necessary advice to construction supervisors & workers.
  • Conduct periodic awareness sessions, inductions, toolbox talks focusing on site rules, regulations, tools, chemicals, ladders, scaffolds & other equipment.
  • Ensure prestart briefings are conducted by the foremen, chargehand and supervisors.
  • Evidence based reporting of unsafe conditions and unsafe acts at site and recommend corrective actions.
  • Report near miss and incidents and preserve the incident location pending investigation.
  • Furnish employee with the proper personal protection equipment, instruct them in its proper use, and make certain that it is working.
  • Hazard identification and immediate action to minimize the risks as required by the MSRA. Further recording of all hazards identified and action taken by the Construction Management.
  • Assist the HSE Manager and HSE Supervisors in conducting emergency evacuation drills at least once every six months on site.
  • Check plant and equipment and the validity of all appropriate test certificates and valid stickers
  • Stop work immediately for any activities that he deems are immediate danger to life or health and report such activities to the HSE Supervisor.
  • Communicate lessons learned from HSE alerts received from the corporate HSE department or client and post them on the HSE notice board.
  • Ensure installation of safety warning signs and other signage in strategic locations.
  • Provide advice on corrective actions so suspended work may resume quickly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the HSE Supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, NEBOSH IGC
  • 5 - 10 years of experience.
  • Expertise in conducting technical HSE Inspections and recommending corrective actions.
  • Expertise in managing emergencies and incidents at site.
