Job Summary
We are Looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Platform Engineering to lead our OpenShift Platform Administrators and DevOps Engineers. This role is responsible for driving the design, automation, and operation of our enterprise platform infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Kubernetes/OpenShift, DevOps, and automation, coupled with exceptional leadership and people management skills. This role focuses on simplifying deployment complexities, improving collaboration with developers, and expanding the platform’s capabilities to support API governance. Will drive innovation in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes, promote best practices and ensure the seamless integration of new technologies.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and implement strategies to simplify deployment pipelines, mentoring the team on best practices for automation.
- Lead the implementation of API governance best practices using API Governance tools, ensuring secure and scalable APIs.
- Experience in integrating diverse systems and technologies, ensuring seamless communication and data flow.
- Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to build efficient, scalable CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Azure DevOps, Ansible, and other automation tools.
- Drive the adoption of ArgoCD for continuous deployment and pipeline management across the platform.
- Enable and guide OpenShift developers in deploying applications according to best practices.
- Oversee the management and expansion of Kong API Gateway and maintain the stability.
- Champion the DevOps culture by enhancing integration between development and operations teams through CI/CD improvements.
- Oversee the standardization of Helm charts for efficient application deployment across OpenShift environments.
- Oversee the administration and integration of Apache Spark and Confluent Kafka into platform architectures.
- Mentor Openshift platform engineers, developers, and administrators on deployment, API management, containerization, and CI/CD best practices.
Other Accountabilities
- Facilitate collaboration across teams to ensure smooth integration of new technologies and operational efficiencies.
- Engage with external vendors for technology partnerships and procurement aligned with business goals.
- Perform proof of concept (POC) and proof of value (POV) for tools to align with design and strategy to meet business goals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align platform architecture with enterprise objectives.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, recommending solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure the security and compliance of the infrastructure in line with industry standards such as PCI-DSS.
- Oversee the deployment and automation of containerized applications using OpenShift, Kubernetes, and other platforms.
- Establish and manage key metrics for system performance, resource utilization, and cost optimization.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhancements to reduce manual efforts and improve reliability.
- Lead efforts in maintaining observability and monitoring of container platforms and infrastructure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Ensure systems resilience by conducting disaster recovery exercises and reviewing failover capabilities.

- Azure DevOps: Experience in managing CI/CD pipelines, facilitating collaboration between development and operations teams.
- JBOSS EAP & Tomcat: Experience with deploying and maintaining Java-based application servers and managing high-availability environments.
- API Gateway (Kong): Expertise in managing secure, scalable API traffic, and integrating microservices.
- API Governance: Understanding of API governance and best practices for secure, scalable deployments. API management aligns with overall platform strategy and security practices.
Qualifications, Expereinces:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science. Similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
- ITIL Certification
- RedHat Certified OpenShift Administrator (EX280)
- RedHat Certified Engineer (EX294)

- Kubernetes Administration Certification

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
- In-depth knowledge of container platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes), Linux administration, and API gateways (Kong).
- Expertise in scripting (Python, Bash, YAML, Ansible) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Experience with DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, Artifactory tools, GitLab, Ansible, and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of security standards such as PCI-DSS and CIS benchmarking.
Required Experience:
- Total 10+ years’ experience in IT.
- Minimum 5+ years of proven work experience in people management.
- Familiarity with common architectural patterns such as microservices, serverless, event-driven, and layered architectures.
- 8+ years of experience to handle Linux Administration team and Infrastrucutre tools
- Minimum 3 years of experience on Containerization technologies and Tools
- Proven experience in managing containerized environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes) and Linux systems.
- Hands-on expertise with DevOps pipelines, automation tools, and container platforms.
- Working knowledge of event, incident & problem management processes and tools.
