About the role:
Responsible for the Emergency Management phases (prevention, preparedness, response and recovery) and review of the emergency response programs of MATAR to ensure compliance with ICAO and CAA regulations on safety to ensure delivery of safety to employees, passengers, aircraft and property at the aerodrome. Also, responsible for the development and coordination of emergency procedures with airport users, responsible for monitoring compliance and coordination of actions with relevant departments and stakeholders. Additionally, accountable to ensure that if-and-when an emergency occurs, response and recovery plans are ready to be put into action and any disruption is minimized.
Key responsibilities
Support line manager in risk assessments within the department and accordingly develop control measures leading to the update of departmental risk registers and the reduction or control of known risks.
Responsible for the development of exercise plans, including reviewing airport emergency policies and procedures, and preparedness plans for all stakeholders leading to a concise set of plans and policies that meet all required standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for developing and facilitating the training of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the responsibilities of all roles are understood and effectively executed, resulting in a clear set of training materials to support emergency planning and response.
Assist line manager and department in conducting airport emergency meetings with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the development and management of mutually agreed MATAR emergency manuals or plans.
Support Emergency Planning management in planning, coordinating, and conducting emergency simulation exercises to ensure goals are met while ensuring stakeholders are prepared and familiar with the airport emergency procedures to conduct a successful exercise.
Accountable for evaluating reports following emergency simulation/exercises and/or incidents from all parties involved whether internal or external to provide recommendations to continually improve emergency response within MATAR.
Monitor reported fault(s) and ensure action points are timely actioned and tracked to mitigate future occurrence.
Assist line manager in conducting trainings and/or coaching sessions to stakeholders to ensure that full understanding of their role in MATAR emergency response plan resulting in fully trained responders to an emergency scenario.
Accountable for ensuring that all facilities used to support the emergency responses are regularly inspected to ensure they are fit for purpose and properly equipped in order to support any emergency scenario.
Responsible for liaising with the relevant health authorities to ensure any health alerts are communicated to the relevant stakeholders in order to ensure our risk exposure is reduced and our responses meet State guidelines.
Responsible for maintaining and updating the MATAR Pandemic Plan to ensure strategies are in place in order to reduce the impact of an unexpected viral event.
Responsible for supporting line manager in ensuring that joint military and Watan exercises are supported in line with our obligations leading to successful completion of any exercise.
Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
