Job description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with strong expertise in Oracle Database 19c administration across Linux and Windows platforms. The candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, patching, and high availability of Oracle databases. Experience with MySQL administration and migration projects is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Oracle Database 19c upgrades, migrations, and technology stack upgrades.
  • Manage database creation, cloning, refreshes, and environment provisioning.
  • Administer multitenant databases (CDB/PDB architecture).
  • Perform database backup and recovery using RMAN.
  • Configure and manage Flashback Database and Guaranteed Restore Points.
  • Monitor database health, availability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Analyze and optimize SQL queries and execution plans.
  • Monitor AWR, ASH, ADDM reports and recommend improvements.
  • Tune database parameters, memory structures, and storage configurations.
  • Resolve database performance bottlenecks and locking issues.
  • Configure and support Oracle Data Guard environments.
  • Manage database failover and switchover activities.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Support business continuity initiatives.
  • Apply Oracle Release Updates (RU), CPU, PSU, and one-off patches using OPatch.
  • Plan and execute database upgrade projects.
  • Maintain Oracle Inventory and patch compliance documentation.

MS SQL Administration

  • Perform backup, recovery, and replication administration.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries.
  • Support migration activities between Oracle and MS SQL environments.
  • Implement database security best practices.
  • Manage database users, roles, profiles, and privileges. Support database auditing and compliance requirements.
  • Apply security patches and vulnerability remediation activities.
  • Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, implementation plans, and rollback procedures.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for production databases.
  • Participate in on-call support and maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, and vendor support teams.
