Job description

The Collections Officer plays a vital role in the financial health of the organization, particularly within the heavy industry and metallurgy sector. This position is responsible for managing the collection of outstanding debts and ensuring that the company's cash flow remains stable. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. As a Collections Officer, you will be tasked with developing and maintaining relationships with clients to facilitate timely payments while adhering to company policies and legal regulations.


Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts.
  2. Communicate with clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings to discuss payment issues.
  3. Negotiate payment plans and settlements with clients who are experiencing financial difficulties.
  4. Prepare and send out invoices and payment reminders to clients.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions related to collections.
  6. Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  7. Conduct credit checks on new clients to assess their creditworthiness.
  8. Develop and implement effective collection strategies to minimize overdue accounts.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting collections.
  10. Provide regular reports on collection activities and outstanding debts to management.

  2. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  3. Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  6. Knowledge of legal regulations related to debt collection.
  7. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  8. Strong negotiation skills to resolve payment disputes.
  9. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
