Job Description:
As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating financial activities. Your primary focus will be to ensure the financial stability and growth of the company while adhering to group-wide financial policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Making sure the company's money is handled correctly.
- Handle all banking transactions such as visiting the bank for deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, and other financial activities as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and reconcile bank statements regularly to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Process incoming cheques by verifying details, ensuring funds availability, and depositing them into the company's bank account.
- Monitor cheque clearances and follow up on any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the process.
- Generate invoices, statements, and credit memos for customers in a timely manner.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, follow up on overdue payments, and coordinate with customers to resolve any payment issues.
- Reconcile customer accounts, track payments, and update financial records accordingly.
- Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payment to vendors.
- Maintain vendor accounts, manage payment schedules, and address any discrepancies or billing errors.
- Prepare and review accounts payable aging reports, manage cash flow projections, and optimize payment processes to maximize efficiency.
- Implement a systematic reminder system to track payables and receivables, send notifications for upcoming due dates, and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Monitor cash flow requirements, forecast liquidity needs, and communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Analyze payment patterns, identify trends, and propose strategies to optimize working capital management and improve financial performance
- Safeguard company funds by following established cash handling procedures and maintaining strict internal controls.
- Monitor cash transactions, reconcile cash accounts, and ensure accuracy in recording cash inflows and outflows.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts, analyze variances, and report on cash balances to support informed decision-making.
- Administer the petty cash fund, disburse funds for approved expenses, and maintain detailed records of all petty cash transactions.
- Replenish the petty cash fund in a timely manner, reconcile petty cash accounts, and ensure that expenditures are properly documented and accounted for.
- Implement controls to prevent misuse or fraud related to petty cash, conduct periodic audits, and report findings to management for review.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets, forecast financial performance, and allocate resources effectively to support strategic objectives.
- Monitor budget variances, analyze performance against targets, and provide insights to guide decision-making and cost control measures.
- Prepare budget reports, conduct budget reviews, and recommend adjustments to ensure alignment with organizational goals and financial sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing accurate tax returns.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation, assess tax implications on business operations, and provide tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, respond to tax inquiries from authorities, and participate in tax audits to ensure timely resolution of tax-related issues.
- Lead the financial closing process by preparing financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, in accordance with accounting standards.
- Conduct financial analysis, review financial performance metrics, and present financial reports to senior management for review and decision-making.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA/CMA qualification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role in the manufacturing industry, preferably.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
