1. Hardware & Operating Systems
• Routing & Switching: Hands-on command-line expertise with enterprise hardware families (such as Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Aruba, or Juniper).
• Security Appliances: Deep knowledge of modern firewall security policies (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, or Cisco ASA).
2. Networking Protocols & Architectures
• Routing: Dynamic routing mechanisms including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
• Core Infrastructure: TCP/IP stack depth, VLAN tagging, subnetting, DMZ isolation, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and NAT/PAT.
• Modern Paradigms: Strong grasp of Software-Defined Networking (SD-WAN), MPLS, and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) concepts.
Required
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical industry experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years of direct, hands-on enterprise-level network administration experience.
• On-Call Availability: Ability to participate in a scheduled on-call rotation for critical infrastructure emergencies.
Preferred Certifications (Strong Pluses)
The ideal candidate should hold at least one professional or associate-level validation, such as:
• Cisco: CCNA / CCNP Enterprise (Routing & Switching / Security)
• Fortinet / Palo Alto: NSE 4 or higher / PCNSA / PCNSE
• Clear documentation habits (network topology mapping, Visio schematics, incident tracking).
• The ability to stay methodical and analytical under critical outage pressures.
