Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) – Workday Financials (AR Systems)



Digital Enterprise Technology (DET) is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) to join our Finance Engineering team as a Workday Financials Configuration Lead. This role is focused on advanced configuration across Workday Financials, with deep expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR).
You will act as a configuration design authority, driving scalable, compliant solutions across key modules including Customer/Contracts/Invoicing (AR), Accounting Center , Workday Tax, General Ledger (GL) and Banking & Settlement, while partnering closely with Finance, Tax, and Engineering teams.




Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead end-to-end configuration of Workday AR including customers, invoicing, settlements, cash application, adjustments, and collections



  • Design and optimize Business Process Framework (BPF), including approvals, routing, and SOX-compliant controls



  • Configure Workday Tax (tax codes, authorities, transaction tax rules) aligned with invoicing and settlement flows



  • Define and manage accounting logic using Accounting Center and ensure accurate financial postings



  • Design scalable financial data structures and support reporting, reconciliation, and audit requirements



  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust configurations



  • Drive governance, design reviews, release impact analysis, and testing strategies



  • Mentor team members and promote best practices in Workday Financials configuration




Required Skills:



  • 8+ years of hands-on Workday Financials configuration experience, with strong focus on AR



  • Deep expertise in Accounts Receivable lifecycle (invoicing, cash application, settlements, adjustments)



  • Strong experience with Business Process Framework (BPF) and workflow configuration



  • Hands-on expertise in Accounting Center , calculated fields, and advanced reporting



  • Experience configuring Workday Tax and understanding of tax integration touch points



  • Solid understanding of finance processes such as Record-to-Report and Quote-to-Cash



  • Experience with Workday security model (domain and role-based access)



  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills across Finance and Engineering teams
