Job Overview :


The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for managing and improving supplier quality performance, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves supplier audits, quality assurance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain high-quality standards in both qualification and production phases.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and develop supplier quality performance for assigned suppliers
  • Conduct supplier audits, process validations, and capability assessments
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and contractual requirements
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Monitor supplier KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support incoming inspection activities and coordinate with internal stakeholders
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier-related quality issues
  • Participate in new supplier qualification and onboarding processes
  • Drive API Q1 audit requirements for new components and First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Ensure compliance with API and ISO standards during qualification and production

Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of quality tools: 8D, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, Control Plan, SPC
  • Experience in supplier audits and quality system standards (ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2)
  • Hands-on experience in APQP, PPAP, and supplier component qualification
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and supplier development initiatives

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Quality or equivalent)
  • Relevant experience in Supplier Quality / Quality Engineering
  • Certification in supplier audits or quality systems (preferred)
  • Willingness to travel 30–40% for supplier audits and FAIs
